Thank you for your interest in starting a chapter of UAID! Members of a UAID chapters benefit from a number of opportunities including:

  • Training in health equity with an opportunity to earn a certificate

  • Training in designing, executing, and evaluating community health projects

  • Real-world experience working to reduce local health inequities

  • Leadership opportunities and development of professional skills required by most health professions programs (e.g., AAMC core competencies)

  • Experience writing research papers to be published in the UAID Journal of Health Equity

  • Experience creating research posters for and presenting research projects at the UAID Mid-Year Symposium and Annual Conference

  • Monthly mentorship opportunities with leaders in public health

  • Fulfillment of academic credit, practicum, or capstone requirements

New Chapter Application

UAID will be accepting a very limited number of new chapters for the 2025-26 academic year. Any student may join UAID free of cost, though a membership fee is required for engagement with specific aspects of the organization; a scholarship for these fees is available. More information is available upon request or during the interview process. All approved chapters must have the support of a campus advisor by the beginning of the academic year.
